Get ready for a frightfully fun morning in Carpenter Park! Whether you lace up your sneakers or bring the whole family for treats and tunes, there’s something for everyone at our very first Spooky Sprints & Haunted Happenings.


5K Costume Fun Run

Show off your most creative costume while running (or walking!) a festive 5K through the Carpenter Park neighborhood.

$20 Registration (includes a t-shirt + participation medal)

Spooky Sprint Route & Race Day Details 

We’re so excited to welcome nearly 100 runners to Carpentersville’s first-ever Spooky Sprint 5K Fun Run & Walk this Saturday, October 25!

Start/Finish: Carpenter Park
Runner Check-In: Opens at 8:00 AM near the playground 
NOTE: Registration fee due at check in- cash or check only please. 
Race Start: 9:00 AM
Mini Monster Dash: Immediately following the 5K start. *no registration needed for this 

Road closures will be in effect along the race route from approximately 8:45–10:30 AM.

Parking: Available in the Carpenter Park lot and adjacent overflow areas.
Restrooms: Located near the Finish line| Main Stage and The Start | South Entrance to the park.
Water Station: Water will be available at the finish line.
Strollers & Walkers: Welcome! We ask that you line up toward the back at the start.
Safety: Police and volunteers will be stationed throughout the route — please stay on the marked course and follow all directions. 
Weather: The race will take place rain or shine (unless severe weather conditions occur).
Timing: This is a fun run — no official timing, just festive community spirit!

All registered participants will receive a Spooky Sprint T-shirt and finisher medal, and costumes are highly encouraged!

Stick around after the race for Trunk or Treat, vendors, music, and Halloween fun throughout Carpenter Park from 9:00 AM–Noon.
