The Village of Carpentersville allows for various groups, organizations, and individuals to adopt and memorialize meaningful infrastructure items to enhance local aesthetics and promote community involvement. Though basic in nature, these programs serve a useful purpose in the Village. Currently, there are two adoption/memorial programs: the Adopt-a-Park Program and the Tree Memorial Program.
The Adopt-a-Park program creates an opportunity for community groups, organizations, and individuals to make meaningful contributions to their local community. Largely made up of simple tasks, the park adoption program is intended to create long term commitments between the adopting party and the Village to maintain specific parks or park areas. Parties that are interested in participating in this program are encouraged to contact the Department of Public Works at 847-836-2464. Below is some additional information and forms related to the Adopt-a-Park program. However, it is highly recommended that contact is made between the interested party and the Village before any forms are completed.

Tree Memorial Program
The Tree Memorial Program creates an opportunity for community groups, organizations, and individuals to invest in a public tree. Generally, interested parties adopt trees to commemorate deceased loved ones, family members, community leaders, or any person, group, or event that the interested party wishes to publicly acknowledge. Below is some additional information and forms related to the Tree Memorial Program. Trees must be planted in an approved public area and will include a commemoration plaque. Upon contacting the Department of Public Works, interested parties will receive a list of approved trees to select from. The text on the commemoration plaque will be submitted by the interested party and given approval by the Department of Public Works.
